Based on true events, Cuban directors Lilo and Camilo Vilaplana’s award-winning feature shines a light on the human rights violations suffered by women who refused to conform, dared to fight back, and were dubbed political prisoners in Revolutionary Cuba. 

After fighting to restore and stabilize democracy in their country, Alina, Luisa and América realize they’ve been betrayed by the leader of the revolution. The three women choose to confront and challenge the new system in their own ways and for different reasons they find themselves jailed. Their lives become intertwined in the misfortune that they endure within the dungeon of a jail where their human rights are violated without respect to their womanhood.
