Cuban director Carlos Lechuga’s highly-anticipated new feature follows Vicenta, a gifted clairvoyant grappling with her son’s decision to leave the country. Thrust into a profound crisis after his departure, the titular Vicenta sets out on a voyage to the heartland of a country where everyone seems to have lost their faith.

Set amongst Cuba’s vibrant landscapes, Vicenta is a gifted santera who uses her ability to connect to her ancestors to foresee the future. When her beloved son leaves home in search of employment abroad, the heartbreak of their separation drives Vicenta into an identity crisis as she worries about her boy. While she can foretell others’ futures, her own remains cloudy as she struggles with her ancestors to understand the journey ahead for her son. In the process, she rediscovers her connection to the island and recovers her own sense of well-being as she learns to cope with what she cannot control.
