A Haitian-Dominican man (Miguel) and a Dominican woman (Mar) find and lose love through a series of unforeseen events. These two childhood friends reunite after Mar loses her visa in New York, and is forced to move back to her hometown. Miguel is determined to show his depressed friend a good time, so he brings her on a magical journey through the mountains of Jarabacoa, and introduces her to his thriving arts community. But can this love story have a happy ending?
